Hubby's Christmas Card

Because I've been so poorly before Christmas and after I hadn't managed to take pictures of any of the cards I have made. The only one I have is my hubby's card. Had planned to take more pictures but just didnt have the strength.

Next year I'll be more organised.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Everyone

This is a very late posting as both my hubby and I have had flu since just before Christmas. We havent even had Christmas dinner yet. Will probably have our Christmas dinner at New Year. Thank goodness for freezers. What would we do without them.

Here is a picture taken out of our bedroom window on Christmas eve. Snow was everywhere. So now we've had some I dont want it back again. It looks lovely until it stops everyone from doing what they need to.

Lands End

Douglas and I havent really had time to have a long weekend since we got married, so planned a few days off and went to Lands End. Weather was really good and we both enjoyed ourselves. Walked lots. My camera isnt working for some strange reason so not able to take pictures of any cards I have made recently. Will need to get another or get it fixed.

Sunday, 6 June 2010

Last Sunday we had a Fun Day which was organised by everyone at work. It was to raise money for three charities chosen by the Committee. A lot of work went into the preparation of it which was held at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow.

I took a craft stall to sell my cards. Thought you might like to have a look at my stall. Its the first time I have done a craft fair.

Wedding Photos

I have been getting a row from some of my friends for not sharing more photos of my wedding. So here are a couple more. As I wasnt prepared for this wedding and it was a total shock I wore a dress I had taken with me.

Surprise Surprise

Well no one was more surprised than I was. Douglas proposed to me on Monday night while we were in Las Vegas and we were marrried on Wednesday at noon in LasVegas and 8pm in Scotland. I think I am still in shock yet. Anyway we had a fantastic day yesterday. We were collected by a limo and taken to the wedding chapel. I changed there and the photographer took some photos. The ceremony was also relayed on the web so that my family back home in Scotland could watch. It was a lovely ceremony. More photos taken and then the limo took us back to the hotel. We went out for a lovely meal and then went to see Phantom of the Opera to finish off the day.

So now I am Mrs Stevens. It was a brilliant day.

Bad Blogger

Hi all. Been a bad blogger recently. Have had so many things to do regarding work and packing for my hols. I am also taking a table at a craft stall at the end of May so have been putting things together for that.

At the moment I am in sunny Las Vegas, although there is a bit of a chilly wind. Have been relaxing the last couple of days - have done a few shows and a bit of sightseeing but nothing major.

Hope to be back crafting soon and promise I will let you see some photos.

Birthday Card for a Special Friend

It's my friend Lydia's birthday today - Happy Birthday Lyds. Decided to make a card using the new Flower Fairies CD's by Crafters Companion. I love Flower Fairies so had to have these CD's. Hope she likes it.

An Early Birthday card for April

Made this card for a friend's daughter. It's from the Beatrix Potter range on CD by Crafters Companion. An 8 x 8 card is not my normal size of card, so was keen to have a go at it. I have always loved Beatrix Potter images - she was a very talented lady. And Peter Rabbit is my favourite.

Birthday Card

As its nearly spring, I thought I would make a card which I think depicts the start of spring, in my opinion. Daffodils are one of my favourite flowers and have always got them at this time of the year. The image is from Fred She Said.

Card for Grandma

Here is the card I made for my friend Lydia who has recently become a grandma. Let's hope she doesnt peak on my blog before it arrives as I am a bit late in posting it. No looking Lyds.

New Baby Boy

One of my friend's daughter's had a baby boy on Thursday. George weighed in at 10lb 11 ozs. Poor Kayleigh had a bit of a time in labour. Mum, baby and grandma are all doing well - thank goodness. Here's the card I made to welcome George into the world. And yes its decoupage with some card candy.

Man's Birthday Card

My friend Paul had a birthday last week. Didnt want to put his card on until after his birthday - just in case he peeked at my blog. Another easel card and yes it has decoupage too. Just cant help doing decoupage. I always plan not to - but then I do.

A Rose for a Rose

One of my colleagues at work has a birthday tomorrow and her name is Rose. I made this card as I thought it was appropriate. I used Sharon Duncan's Just for You Flowers. This is one of my favourite images from the CD.

Early Christmas Card or Late

Depends on how you look at it. I cut this out to give to my brother in law for Christmas, but ran out of time and put it away for this year. I love the Flippin range, but prefer to put them on A5 cards. I am so glad that they have brought out an A5 set now and they all have backgrounds. So that the original one fits in an A5 card I need to cut it down a bit to make it fit. As I'm down south I havent brought my peel offs so will finish it off when I go back home with some corners. My brother in law will get this card this year.

Handbag Cards

Have made these three handbag cards for my niece for cards that she needs for some friends. Thought she might like these.

Yet Another Couple of 50th Birthday Cards

One of the ladies in the office asked me would I do two 50th Birthday cards - this must be a popular week for 50th Birthdays. And yes I have done some more decoupage as she asked me to do them at short notice and my brain instantly thinks decoupage. Added some gems to the top one. And yet another Me To You Bear one. Giving her them tomorrow - so hope that she likes them.

50th Birthday Card

My best friend Susan is 50 on Thursday - I'm sure she wont mind me telling everyone. Originally wasnt going to do a decoupage card for her, but changed my mind. Well what can I say. I like doing decoupage and I love these Me To You Bears. Printed the card on my computer and added some card candy.

Valentine's Card

Here is the Valentine's card I made for Douglas and yes - its another easel card. Used the Popcorn Romance CD for the image and decoupaged it up. Printed a sentiment on my PC and used my nestabilities to cut it. Also used some red card candy. He likes it and so do I.

Jamie's Birthday Pictures

We had a great night. Its only when you look for photos of family that you realise that there arent many - mainly because we all hate getting our pictures taken - well I do anyway. Here is a picture of the birthday boy with his mum.

This is one of my three great nephew's. Love these boys to bits and its always great spending time with them - which doesnt happen too often. I can still remember how proud I was when they were born. They have grown up to fine young men. I am so proud of all of them.

Jamie's Birthday Cards

It was my great nephew Jamie's 18th birthday on the 4th February. Not only had I to make a card for myself, but had volunteered to make one from his dog to give him. I used the Popcorn Bear Romance CD for Jay's card and then decided that I shouldnt do decoupage for mine to make them different. Here are the two of them. I quite like these easel cards.

My First Easel Card

It's my friend Alice's birthday at the weekend and I have just finished her card. Knew that I wanted to make an easel card, but just couldnt decide what to put on it. My problem is that decoupage is the first thing that comes to me when making a card and I wanted to do something different. Ok it has decoupage on the front - so that was the easy bit. Hope she'll like it. Used Sharon Duncan's embossibilites CD for the background. Just love these backing papers. The rubber stamp was a one from a selection from Stampin Up and also used my SU punches. Ribbon and flowers from my stash.

A Million Dollars

When we were in Vegas we went to the older part of the town - Freemont Street and had a look around there. A lot quieter than down the strip. One of the places we went into was Binions which - as far as I can remember - the place which did the first Poker tournament. Inside they have a million dollars in a case and you can get your picture taken beside it. Oh how it would be good if you could take it home with you.

My First Christmas Card of 2010

Well I have really surprised myself by making a Christmas card already. Mind you I did make one early last year but didnt progress too much making more. Used my snowflake cuttlebug folder and then my scalloped circle nestabilites to cut a hole in it. Used a Martha Stewart border punch that I bought at the NEC in November and then backed it onto red card and added a piece of ribbon from my stash. Cut a snowflake and put it in the middle of the circle and added a peel off. The picture is a bit squinty.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is looming so thought I had better get cracking and make a couple of cards that I need.
I always find them difficult. This one is one of the Me To You Bears. I just love these designs and have used them frequently on cards. Printed off the front of the card, made a backing sheet with my 3D2 software and used peel offs for the heart. Also decorated the inside of it. Hope you like it.

Las Vegas

Here are a couple of piccies of Douglas and I in Las Vegas. We had a fantastic time. Weather was cool for them but just nice for us. This one was taken along the strip. Douglas wanted to put his kilt on one of the days and have his picture taken outside some of the places he played poker. LOL. One kind guy asked if we wanted our pictures taken together - I felt a bit under dressed. We bumped into a Glaswegian who had lived in Vegas for lots of years. So I gave him a rundown on what was different now. This one is across from Caesar's Palace.

This one is at the fountains in front of The Bellagio Hotel. Made famous by Ocean's Eleven. Its a fantastic show. We went and had a look at night and had a coffee in the hotel. Very posh indeed. I believe that George Clooney had the place in an uproar as they had it all sealed off when they were filming, but he kept on coming out during the filming and the place was buzzing.

AWOL

Well I have been a bad blogger - well not totally my fault. I couldnt log in as it said it was the wrong email address and then the password and it was driving me nuts. Hopefully that is me sorted now. Was in Vegas for my hols and loved it. Went to the Grand Canyon - my goodness what a massive hole in the ground. LOL. I didnt win any money, but Douglas did and we are planning to go back again this year. Better start saving.
